A Jesus Centered Family Passover Seder

I was so honored to be able to photograph my sister’s family at their Jesus-centered Passover Seder the other night. They used the script I had written and it was perfect for their 5 & 2 year old boys.

In this Script, I have allowed each element of Passover to point families and their children to Jesus. As Christians, we believe that Jesus is the fulfillment of Passover and the Ultimate Passover Lamb. We see Jesus himself observe the feast and use it a point to himself and he gave his people a new covenant. I wanted my children to see that clearly this Passover and Easter season.

I am praying that Jesus would meet you in a simple celebration of what He did, not only for the Israelites back then but also for us and His sacrifice on the cross. Look for glimpses of Him in each part of your celebration.

Point your children to Jesus as they taste the elements and listen to the story. If they do not want to taste the different things that are offered, that is okay. Allow them instead to smell or touch each element. Try not to make the experience about doing, but rather listening and being together experiencing as a family.

This Passover script is intended for the youngest of your family. My four children were three and five when we observed our first Passover with a script similar to this one. I have written these pages with the youngest ages in mind, knowing their attention spans in need for hands-on learning.

Please use the crafts, videos, and recipes included as tools for further exploration and learning. Children love to be hands-on. The more that they can be involved in, the more they will learn and love the experience.

“And when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover,” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭12:26-27‬

“Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.” 1 Corinthians 5:7
