Jesus Calms A Storm

Don’t be afraid, Jesus speaks PEACE.

“The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and waves obey Him!” Matthew 8:27

Storm in a Bottle

Fill an empty bottle halfway with water. Add a few drops of blue food coloring and swirl around to mix. Add glitter, mini fish sequins and a cut piece of craft stick for a boat. Fill the bottle the rest of the way with clear baby oil. Make sure the rim and cap are dry. Apply hot glue around the rim and seal cap. Shake and watch the storm.

Slime Story

  • 1 Bottle of (blue) Elmer’s Glitter Glue
  • 1/2 TBSP Baking Soda
  • 1 TBSP Contact Lens Solution

Empty Glitter Glue into a bowl. Add Baking Soda and mix well. Stir in Contact Lens Solution. This will activate the slime. Once the slime begins to form, squeeze a few drops onto your (child’s) hands, remove from bowl, and knead. If slime is too sticky, add a couple drops more of contact solution and knead until no longer sticky. Store in airtight container.

Use glitter slime with a toy boat and figures to play act the story. (note: slime will stick to the peg figures and wood pieces (as seen in photo lol). It is best to use plastic toys with slime play.)

Stormy Scene

Paint a poster board or card stock with black, grey and blue for stormy skies. Let your child have scissor practice while they cut out lightning bolts and raindrops from yellow and blue construction paper. Use a glue stick to add these to the black paper for a stormy scene. We also added a boat and Jesus on the stormy waters.

Boat Craft

Create a boat with a half circle and triangle shapes. Glue onto a craft stick and decorate. We glued ours down to construction paper and added waves, but you could also make this using half of a small paper plate for durability and let it be by itself.

Apple Boats

Cut large chunky apple slices. Pierce a cheese square or triangle with a toothpick and stick into the apple slice for a sail.
