LOVE – The Christmas Story

God sent us Jesus, out of His great LOVE.

“For God so loved the world, He gave His one and only Son.” John 3:16

Birth of Jesus Recommended Resources

With the Christmas Story, there are so many wonderful books to read your children. Some of our favorites are: “The Christmas Promise” by the Good Book Company”, A Very Noisy Christmas”, by Tim Thornborough, the stories of the Birth of Jesus from the “Jesus Storybook Bible”, by Sally Lloyd Jones, and “The Beginners’ Gospel Story Bible” by Jared Kennedy. You can find all these on Amazon. 🙂

Nativity Manipulative Play

I love manipulatives for the birth of Jesus stories. Here are a few ideas of things that we have done but the possibilities are endless!

Kinetic Sand and Nativity Peg People! Your Babies in the Word Nativity Set is perfect for this! 😉

Play dough, laminated Nativity Story Cards, Carboard cut out stables, star shaped beads, and packing crinkle cut paper.

Play dough, “sweet smelling spices” (we used whole cloves and cinnamon sticks), Nativity beads (I picked these up on Christmas clearance at Hobby Lobby), star shaped beads.

Nativity Graham Cracker Stable

One of our favorite hands on snacks for the telling of the birth of Jesus is a Graham Cracker Nativity Stable. Create a stable using 2 whole and 2 half graham crackers. Attach with thick “cement frosting. (This is best to do several hours before snack time, or even better, overnight.) Use various snack manipulatives to create the Nativity story and decorate your stable…. Pretzel rods, Frosted Mini Wheats, Gummy Bears, Animal Crackers, Marshmallows, MnMs, etc.
